2005  Houston beats Braves 7-6 in 18 innings – longest postseason game in MLB history – also 1st postseason game with 2 grand slams
2001  Curt Schilling throws a 3 hit 1-0 win as Arizona beats St. Louis in the NLDS
2000  Bret Hull scores his 611th NHL goal passing his father Bobby to become #9 on all time list
1992  Rookie Tim Wakefield of Pittsburgh beats Atlanta 3-2 in NLCs – 1st rookie to start a NL playoff game in 9 years
1988  Dennis Eckersley becomes the first to save all 4 games in a championship series
1974  Washington Capitals play their 1st NHL game – they lose – will also lose their next 36 road games – end season 15-54-11
1966  Baltimore wins the World Series as they sweep the LA Dodgers – Orioles pitchers threw 33 consecutive scoreless innings – World Series record
1951  NYY Gil McDougald is the first rookie to hit a grand slam in World Series history
1938  NYY win their 3rd straight World Series – 1st to do so
1921  Babe Ruth hits his 1st World Series HR
