2003  Aaron Boone hits a HR in the 11th to give NYY a 6-5 win over Boston and advance to the World series – Mariano Rivera pitches 3 innings in relief for the win
1990  Eric Davis of the Cincinnati Red hits a HR in his first World Series at bat – the 22nd to do so
1988  Orel Hershiser beat the A’s 3-0 on 3 hits – also had 3 hits himself including 2 doubles
1977  The Denver Broncos beat the Oakland Raiders 30-7 as Kenny Stabler throws 7 interceptions
